The traffic load increasing continuously, the actors of the air transport industry have to work together on limited and shared resources. New ways of solving congestion problems must be developed to allow for the evolution of air traffic.
One of
the latest trends is the Collaborative Decision Making (CDM), aiming
at improving information management and facilitate exchange by linking between
them the majority of airports and airline operation centres. The Air CDM Demonstrator
is the first European project that embodies the concept since it explores
the feasibility of a running prototype.
NeoSYS was in charge of the feasibility assessment and specifications of the
Air CDM Demonstrator, a limited scale
prototype of collaborative information exchange. The use of Internet technology
provides a readily extensible in scale solution.
The sharing of both
slow-changing and real-time data on an Internet link, ensuring data integrity,
security and consistency.
The CDM concept has gained widespread currency in the civil aviation community
over the last few years: it is a key driver in the EUROCONTROL ATM Strategy
for 2000+ and has already delivered.
